Do Full-Size Pickup Truck Owners Also Own a Car or Bike for Commuting?

In regions where registration fees are exorbitant, it's quite common for full-size pickup truck owners, including those with dualies, to utilize their vehicles for both work and commuting. My personal experience with this dynamic is a prime example. While in my state, I faced high registration fees, I ultimately turned to my pickup truck as my primary mode of transportation for shorter trips and daily commutes, which a smaller vehicle could handle.

From F250 to F350 and Beyond

My initial foray into pickup trucks began with an F250 model, primarily used for towing a travel trailer and later, a 5er. This truck served as my daily driver and a reliable option for commuting alongside my wife's smaller vehicle—a small-ish SUV. While a motorcycle or eScooter might have seemed like a viable alternative, loading such a vehicle onto a bike rack into a parking spot and potentially missing out on a table during a valuable 90-minute commute was not ideal.

Looking back, another scenario presented a different commuting scenario that was better suited to eScooters. A folding eScooter proved to be an excellent alternative for commutes where security and convenience were critical. This eScooter was small enough to fit on the bus and could be easily positioned on the floor next to the rider's seat at a table. Despite minor drawbacks, such as its reduced performance in rainy weather, the eScooter became a great option for commutes.
