Personal Reflections on the Best Cars I Have Ever Seen

Introduction

Car enthusiasts often ponder the question, 'What is the best car I have ever seen on the road?' This article explores my personal experiences and reflections on some of the finest vehicles I have encountered during my lifetime, from supercars and hypercars to reliable daily drivers. Dive into my journey to find out which car held a special place in my heart.

The Best Sedans and Daily Drivers

When it comes to reliable cars that are both practical and high-quality, the Honda Accord 2018 stands out as a top choice. My family owns a 2018 model, which has earned our 'third love' status. The handling and ride quality are superb, and the car gets an impressive 45 MPG on the highway. The build quality and finish of the Accord are of very high standard for its class. In fact, the 2018 Accord was Car of the Year and, with proper care, it might last us a lifetime.

Supercars and Hypercars

My teenage years saw the emergence of some truly breathtaking automobiles. I've had the privilege of witnessing some of the most iconic supercars, including two McLaren 720s, the Nissan 300ZX from the 90s, the 2020 Ford GT500, the Lamborghini Centenario, the Lamborghini Aventador, and my favorite, a white Porsche 911 GT3 RS with a black interior.

The Best Cars à la Personal Preferences

When it comes to defining 'best,' different criteria can lead to varied selections. For quality and reliability, I would recommend Toyota Camry or Honda Accord. However, for craftsman-like excellence, my pick would be a Rolls Royce. If you seek technologically advanced vehicles, a Tesla would be a standout.

Reliable Daily Drivers of the Past

Cars like the American Motors Rambler and the MERCON 1961 Mercury Comet were known for their reliability and ease of maintenance. While not the most powerful vehicles, they provided excellent service with minimal issues. My preference for trucks has always been the Ford F-Series, which were reliable and easy to work on. Nowadays, however, modern vehicles face more challenges with transmission troubles seemingly becoming the norm.

The Rarest of Them All: The Chrysler Turbo

Amid the sea of common vehicles, I've had the unique experience of seeing a rare experimental car, the Chrysler Turbo. This car, built in the 1960s as part of a turbine engine test, was a one-of-a-kind project. Only about 300 were made in Italy, imported to the USA under Customs bond, and farmed out to various non-Chrysler employees to test their performance. Sadly, these cars were not yet perfect in terms of performance and fuel efficiency. Eventually, all the Turbos were retrieved and destroyed to comply with Customs regulations, with possibly a few being exported to Canada. This Chrysler Turbo passed us in 1963 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and will forever be one of the rarest cars I've ever laid eyes on.

Conclusion

The question of 'What is the best car you've ever seen?' can be answered in numerous ways, depending on personal experiences and preferences. From the reliable daily drivers like the Honda Accord to the rare experimental Chrysler Turbo, each car offers its unique charm and experience. Whether you're looking for speed, reliability, or a unique piece of automotive history, there's a car out there that will catch your eye.
