Introduction to Tata Tiago

Tata Tiago is a popular choice among city and highway drivers, known for its sturdy build and standard safety features. Whether you're driving through bustling cities or long stretches of highways, the Tiago has something to offer.

Features and Specifications

The Tata Tiago comes with a range of features that cater to both city and highway commuters. Here are some key features and specifications:

Petrol Engine: A 3-cylinder engine that delivers decent performance. AC: A powerful air conditioning system to keep you comfortable. Battery: Heavy-duty battery that lasts longer. Music System: A very good sounding Herman Audio system that enhances your driving experience. Rear Camera: Rear camera for better visibility and safety. Bluetooth Connectivity: Easy connection to your phone. Power Windows: All four windows can be operated electronically. ABS with EBD and CSC: Standard safety features for better control in various road conditions.

The body of the vehicle is quite sturdy, making it one of the safest in its segment. However, the 3-cylinder petrol engine is where it falls short when compared to competitors with 4-cylinder engines.

Experiences and User Feedback

I have been using a Tata Tiago XZ for the past three years. Previously, I owned a second-generation Swift. Here, I share my experiences and insights.

Things I Like About Tata Tiago

Build Quality: The build is awesome, with excellent attention to detail. Luxury: Equipped with a powerful AC and a very good sounding Herman Music System. Mileage: Provides excellent mileage, with a combined average of 19-21 kmpl in city and highway conditions. Handling: Excellent handling and straight-line stability on highways. Interior Space: The interior space is generous and comfortable. Exhaust Sound: Awesome sounding exhaust at top end. Paint Quality: The paint quality is outstanding, even after three years, it feels new. Tires: Wider tires compared to competitors. Service Costs: More cost-effective service compared to the Swift, with each service costing around 3-3.5K.

Things I Don’t Like About Tata Tiago

Poor Low End Grunt: Can be frustrating in bumper-to-bumper traffic. NVH Level: Increased wind and road noise, especially on highways. Laggy Head Unit: The head unit can be slow and prone to lag. Vibrations: Vibrations at idle can be irritating but fade away once on the move. Seat Cushioning: Seats are currently softer than one might prefer.

Summary of Tata Tiago’s Value Proposition

Tata Tiago is a gamechanger for Tata Motors in the passenger car segment. The features offered at this price point make it a valuable addition to the market. Compared to other models in the segment, such as Celerio, Kwid, and Grand, Tata Tiago offers a better driving experience. Its premium feel and confidence on the road make it a strong contender in the domestic market.
